Fishermen Scuba Studio
Alex Tan and his partner founded Fishermen Scuba Studio in 1989 to provide quality diving training and enjoyment for all. With 8 years of experience in military and commercial diving, Alex emphasized the importance of honing mental faculties in minimizing accidents. The agency expanded its network to Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines, managing an influx of foreign and local divers. Fishermen Scuba Studio received numerous recognitions, including the 200 DIVERS/ANNUM award, and experienced a thriving diving scene. However, Covid hit, affecting business but regaining momentum with local support.
In 2024, Fishermen Scuba Studio partnered with Indonesian Liveaboard phinisi Seamore-Papua to organize year-round trips to national marine parks, such as Raja Ampat, Komodo and the Banda Sea.
Alex remains passionate about diver education and continues to enjoy diving with his certified divers.
